Young America’s Foundation has been around the world, offering our supporters an in-depth study of the many pressing policy questions facing countries from Australia to Hungary to Argentina and beyond. In 2023, it will be my honor, as YAF’s president, to join you on the Foundation’s latest at-sea program!
These study trips have assembled some of the most prominent leaders and heads of state in our world, including Margaret Thatcher, Lech Walesa, Jose María Aznar, Tony Abbott, Ed Meese, and dozens more.
That’s why you will not want to miss another opportunity to travel with like-minded friends, mingle with accomplished leaders, and learn about how your exceptional Young America’s Foundation educates young minds.
On our 2023 voyage, you will visit some of Western Europe’s most breathtaking sites as we cruise to Rouen, France, sailing from Lisbon, Portugal.
Together, from June 3 to 14, 2023, we will experience the wonder of the Alaskan wilderness, cruising the Inside Passage and Seymour Narrows enroute to Ketchikan and the Gold Rush cities of Juneau and Skagway. We will also visit the rugged paradise of Hoonah, Alaska, and take in the majestic Hubbard Glacier before stopping in Sitka, Alaska—what was Russia’s New World capital. Our journey takes us to the Canadian port city of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, before cruising the Outside Passage on our way back to Vancouver.
In addition to this fascinating cruise of the vast wilderness, described by Crystal Cruises as its “Fascinating Frontiers” voyage, we will enjoy remarks from key conservative leaders, including longtime CKE Restaurants CEO Andy Puzder, Brexit leader and author Daniel Hannan, and talk radio host Larry O’Connor, among others.
Upon our return to Vancouver, on July 18, we invite you to join us for a special dinner featuring 22nd Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who served in this role from 2006 to 2015. Young America’s Foundation will arrange a block of hotel rooms both before and after our cruise, should you wish to extend your stay in Canada. (Please see the side bar and inquire with our travel agents at 866-255-8877 for more information.)
Even though you’ll be miles away from home, you will feel most at home and welcome with our group of travelers on the luxurious Crystal Serenity.
Tonette and I look forward to being with you on this this enriching and educational voyage
Governor Scott Walker | Young America's Foundation President
Governor Scott Walker
Young America's Foundation
Governor Scott Walker was raised with a heart for public service, patriotism, and hard work. He moved to the small town of Delavan, Wisconsin, when he was in third grade. There, his father was a minister and his mother worked part time as a bookkeeper and secretary. Scott was active in school, sports, church, Scouts, and American Legion's Badger Boys State and Boys Nation programs.
In June 1993, Scott was elected to the state assembly, where he helped lead the way on welfare reform, public safety, and educational opportunities. In 2002, he was elected to the Milwaukee County executive office. In this position, Scott worked to reform the scandal-ridden county government and faithfully kept his promise to spend taxpayer money as if it were his own.
In 2008, he won re-election with nearly 60 percent of the vote. On November 2, 2010, Scott was elected the 45th Governor of Wisconsin. Inheriting a $3.6 billion budget deficit, $800 million worth of unpaid bills, and an eight percent unemployment rate, he immediately implemented reforms to renew economic revival, fiscal order, and government accountability in Wisconsin.
Scott became the only governor in American history to survive a recall election on June 5, 2012. He was re-elected in 2014 and sworn into a second term on January 5, 2015.
He serves on the boards of Students for Life Action, American Federation for Children, and the Center for State-led National Debt Solutions.
Scott and his wife, Tonette, have two adult sons.

As co-founder and president of Hoplin Jackson Charitable Advisors, Nicole Hoplin shows the company's clients how the same business best practices that create wealth can also be used when giving it away. An expert in philanthropy, Nicole helps clients create more impact with their charitable giving, and, in so doing, makes giving away wealth as joyful and fulfilling as creating it.
Nicole's boutique philanthropic advising company grew out of her 17 years of working with individuals, families, and private foundations to connect them with the nonprofit programs that reflect their most treasured values and produce extraordinary results. During these nearly two decades, she raised millions of dollars, engaged multiple generations of family members in philanthropy, and became an expert at responding to donors' unique needs and preferences.
She is a philanthropy thought leader, having spoken in forums across the country about the impact generous donors can make in our country. Nicole coauthored Funding Fathers: The Unsung Heroes of the Conservative Movement (Regnery Publishing) with Ron Robinson, president of Young America's Foundation. The book shares the stories of ten prominent entrepreneurs who made the most important philanthropic gifts to advance free enterprise and liberty. The Chronicle of Philanthropy, profiled the book and said it "shines a light on conservative philanthropy." Nicole is also the co-author of the Ten Secrets of Successful Giving, a publication designed to share tips and advice with donors who seek to maximize their impact through their charitable giving.
Nicole dedicated many years as a vice president at Young America's Foundation. She managed relationships with more than 200 supporters to identify their philanthropic priorities and connect them with programs that aligned most with those interests. While at the Foundation, Nicole managed YAF's cruise program, coordinating voyages worldwide, featuring speakers of national and international reputations.
Nicole acquired a Master's degree in Public Policy with an expertise in nonprofit management and leadership summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College.
